The Technical SETA SME will support the MID Technical Director at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The role focuses on the proactive integration of NRO National Technical Means (NTM) capabilities to the operational edge, specifically to support warfighters. The SME will serve as key advisor and liaison, providing deep technical expertise and strategic insights into the systems and capabilities that drive NRO's mission. This individual must be adept at navigating the decision-making processes within the NRO and building relationships both within and outside the organization. The goal is to contribute to the creation and execution of comprehensive campaigns that leverage NRO’s full spectrum of resources to address strategic challenges, such as those posed by nations like China.

​​Responsibilities:
  • Lead efforts to integrate NRO’s National Technical Means (NTM) capabilities to operational environments, ensuring that warfighters have access to the critical intelligence and surveillance information they need.
  • Provide in-depth technical knowledge of NRO systems and capabilities, acting as the go-to expert for all technical queries related to NTM integration.
  • Understand and effectively navigate the NRO’s decision-making and staffing processes to advance strategic initiatives and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal NRO stakeholders and external partners, including other intelligence and defense agencies.
  • Collaborate with NRO leadership and external entities to design and implement comprehensive campaigns that address major global challenges, with a focus on integrating NRO contributions towards these efforts.
  • Synthesize and integrate diverse NRO activities and projects into cohesive strategies that align with national security priorities.
  • Take initiative in identifying and advocating for opportunities to enhance NRO’s contributions to warfighter support and broader strategic objectives.
Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Advanced degree in a related field such as Engineering, Information Technology, or Systems Management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in NRO systems and capabilities, with a solid understanding of how these systems support national defense and intelligence operations.
  • Practical experience with the internal processes and procedures used for decision-making and project staffing within the NRO.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain effective relationships within a large, complex organization and with external partners.
  • Experience in collaborating on the development and execution of large-scale strategic campaigns, particularly those involving multi-faceted contributions towards solving global challenges.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with a passion for driving projects and initiatives forward independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
