Description: Waypoint’s client is seeking a skilled Cloud Systems Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. This role involves managing IT system infrastructure, handling day-to-day operations, monitoring, problem resolution, and providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for a variety of devices and systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems, as well as implementing enhancements to improve system reliability and performance.
Responsibilities:
Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
Manage IT system infrastructure and processes related to these systems.
Provide support for IT systems, including daily operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
Support the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
Provide support for dispatch system and hardware issues, remaining involved in the resolution process.
Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install/load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components.
Implement operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Requirements:
Active TS/SCI clearance with full scope polygraph is required.
Three (3) years of relevant experience.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics is highly desired and will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience.
Hadoop/Cloud System Administrator Certification or comparable Cloud System/Service Certification is required.
Proficient in managing and troubleshooting UNIX and Windows operating systems.
Effective communicator with experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support.
Desired:
Advanced knowledge of SSH tunneling, dynamic SOCKS proxies, and SSH-based utilities such as rsync, pdsh, pdcp, and WinSCP.
Basic understanding of low-level network concepts including VLANs, port channel bonding, and Layer 2/Layer 3 switch interactions.
Familiarity with software load balancers for large-scale web service implementations, including HAProxy and NGINX.
Experience with Kubernetes orchestration services and Docker images.
Experience with log aggregation and search tools, including ElasticSearch, Logstash, Filebeat, Grafana, and rsyslog.
