Description:
Waypoint’s client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Program and Business Operations Manager to provide leadership and expert support to complex government programs. This senior role involves overseeing critical operational functions, driving strategic initiatives, managing requirements, ensuring efficient processes, and facilitating high-level communications.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead the coordination, preparation, and delivery of high-level briefings and presentations for government stakeholders.
  • Facilitate critical program meetings, drive discussions towards decisions, and ensure robust action item tracking and closure.
  • Oversee the comprehensive documentation, tracking, management, and reporting of program requirements according to client standards.
  • Develop, refine, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize program execution.
  • Provide expert-level programmatic support and strategic guidance in areas such as:
    • Strategic organizational planning and process re-engineering.
    • Management and operational leadership for key management/technical boards.
    • Oversight of technical editing standards and quality for crucial documentation.
    • Advanced business management support, potentially including budget or resource analysis coordination.
    • Development, management, and critical path analysis of complex program schedules.
  • Direct and facilitate essential internal and external communications, ensuring clarity and alignment among senior government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Potentially mentor junior staff members within the program support team.
  • Perform other related strategic and operational duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive and relevant professional experience in program management, project management, or business operations support for government programs, demonstrating increasing responsibility. (Adjust years if needed based on company standard).
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. (Note: Additional years of relevant, direct experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Extensive, demonstrable experience coordinating complex briefings, facilitating senior-level meetings, managing program requirements lifecycles, and developing/maintaining SOPs in a complex government or contractor environment.
  • Deep expertise providing programmatic support across areas like organizational planning, board operations, technical editing, business management, complex scheduling, and strategic communications.
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience engaging senior leadership.
  • High proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project) and potentially other relevant project management software.

Desired Skills:
  • Significant experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) clients at a senior level.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent (e.g., PgMP).
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams or major program support functions.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
