Salary Range: $130-160K plus benefits

Waypoint’s client is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer Technical Assistant (SETA) to provide technical support and advisement expertise to government customers and engineering teams. Self-motivated professional that can work independently with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality results. The ideal candidate will serve as a bridge between technical teams, high-level leadership and the broader organizational community.  All while ensuring the individual system and assets meet security requirements and maintain operational efficiency.

​​Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a senior-level DevOps engineer within an Agile Software Development team.
  • Act as a Scrum Master, providing leadership and facilitating team coordination.
  • Communicate customer needs and technical requirements effectively to developers.
  • Manage and prioritize project tasks in alignment with government leadership expectations.
  • Provide technical assessments of development efforts to guide resource allocation and project planning.
  • Ensure technical deliverables align with established schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Lead community engagement and manage public relations in line with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) at both the organizational and system level.
  • Conduct and support Information Assurance (IA) activities, including:
    • Security control implementation
    • Documentation
    • Vulnerability identification and mitigation
​​​​​Requirements:
  • Senior-level experience or knowledge in DevOps engineering.
  • Experience in Agile software development methodologies and leadership roles such as Scrum Master.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to assess technical effort and advise leadership.
  • Experience or knowledge of RMF and Information Assurance practices.
  • 8570 compliant, cyber certification (i.e. Sec+)
  • Experience with the following software/tools:
    • ServiceNow
    • Tenable Security Center
    • Red Seal
    • Forward Networks
    • Tableau
    • Kubernetes
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Familiarity with the following programming language.
    • JavaScript
    • HTML
    • CSS
    • Python
