Position: DevSecOps Engineer
Position Type: Full-time Onsite

Clearance Required: Active Secret (TS/SCI preferred)
Waypoint’s client is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program as part of a dynamic team driving automation development, testing, and deployment across the full Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions that enable advanced missile defense operations in a cloud-enabled environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps best practices.
- Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD processes, pipelines, tools, and deployment strategies.
- Build and deploy containers using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support system design, architecture, integration, deployment, and sustainment within an Agile software development environment.
- Develop and implement solutions addressing infrastructure and security requirements.
- Identify automation needs and design/implement CI/CD solutions to optimize delivery.
- Enable Agile collaboration using Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and related tools.
- Build and maintain CI/CD building blocks and shared libraries to accelerate application team deployment.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- 7+ years of relevant DevSecOps or software engineering experience.
- Active Secret clearance.
- General understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices.
- Experience with cloud technologies/platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
- Strong coding and scripting ability (Java, Python, etc.).
- Familiarity with application security tools (SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanning).
- Knowledge of security compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, DoD IL5, etc.).
- Understanding of network security fundamentals (firewalls, zero trust, encryption).
- Ability to secure workloads in cloud environments.
- Experience working in Agile environments with proven ability to deliver high-quality solutions.
Desired:
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency cybersecurity and IT policies.
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and tools.
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Teams, SharePoint, Jira.
