Position: Senior Requirement Engineer
Position Type: Full-time Onsite
Position Location: Huntsville, AL
Clearance Required: Active Secret (TS/SCI preferred)

Waypoint’s client is seeking a Senior Requirement Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency’s Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program Office. In this role, you will analyze computer software requirements for hardware and technical services supporting a major DoD system. You will also review system architecture, implement development and support tools, and ensure overall product performance, driving engineering rigor and requirements traceability across the GMD enterprise.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage weapon system requirements, ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
• Conduct requirements analysis and trade studies to evaluate alternatives and inform decision-making.
• Maintain requirements traceability across the system lifecycle, ensuring compliance with program and stakeholder needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, program offices, and stakeholders to ensure system-level consistency and performance.
• Support systems engineering documentation reviews and ensure requirement specifications are accurate, complete, and testable.

Required:

• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of experience, OR Bachelor’s degree with 20+ years of experience in large, complex DoD programs/projects.
• Hands-on experience with DOORS for requirements management.
• Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and processes.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Desired:

• Experience with Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) and/or Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) programs.
• Experience working with CAMEO or other MBSE tools.
• STEM degree strongly preferred.
