Description: Waypoint’s client is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the development, analysis, and integration of complex systems and systems of systems. This role focuses on applying Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies to define system architectures, behaviors, and interfaces while ensuring traceability across the system lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain SysML-based system models representing system architecture, behavior, and interfaces.
Apply MBSE methodologies to support system design, integration, and lifecycle management.
Create and manage engineering artifacts, models, and integrated datasets for complex systems and systems of systems.
Support architecture development using MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
Ensure traceability between requirements, system models, and design artifacts.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including government customers and external contractors, to support system development efforts.
Analyze system architectures and engineering data to support design decisions and system improvements.
Develop and present technical documentation, models, and engineering artifacts to stakeholders.
Required:
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or MBSE.
Strong knowledge of SysML for modeling system architectures and behaviors.
Proficiency with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
Experience developing and maintaining models, artifacts, and integrated datasets for complex systems.
Desired:
Knowledge of SysML 2.0.
Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as DoDAF, UAF, or similar.
Experience analyzing engineering data to solve complex system challenges and improve system performance.
Knowledge of aerospace or defense systems and processes.
Experience with modeling and simulation (M&S) tools and methodologies.
