Description: Waypoint’s client is seeking a Senior Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Systems Engineer to provide senior technical and advisory support to a missile defense program office. This role focuses on the refinement, implementation, and standardization of MBSE design practices across a portfolio of complex defense systems.
The selected candidate will support the development and execution of a Government Reference Architecture (GRA) using MBSE methodologies, ensuring consistency, traceability, and alignment across current and future programs.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the architect for implementation of the Government Reference Architecture (GRA) MBSE solution across the program office.
Author process documentation, develop template frameworks, and establish metric reporting methods to support MBSE execution.
Develop, maintain, and manage system models using Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML.
Perform requirements analysis to create and maintain architecture models aligned with mission needs.
Lead systems engineering efforts to elicit and define stakeholder requirements.
Conduct functional analysis using Model-Based Systems Engineering techniques and tools.
Define and decompose system requirements and ensure traceability within MBSE environments.
Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on MBSE methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Required:
Active Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree with 20+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 12+ years of experience, supporting missile defense or DoD programs.
Expert knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and methodologies.
Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML.
Experience developing and maintaining architecture models and system requirements.
Experience with architecture frameworks such as DoDAF and/or UAF.
Experience supporting systems engineering lifecycle activities within DoD programs.
Desired:
Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs and processes.
